Client Story: From Canada to Karlstad
We are a family from Canada who were relocating to Karlstad, Sweden. We got the papers from Migrationsverket and started searching for an apartment.
After several weeks we were still unsuccessful. It is very difficult to find a landlord who would accept a tenant that is not on site or without a personnummer. We were getting desperate, with only a few months left before our arrival.
We were recommended to contact Expedition Sweden to help us, so we sent them an email.
We got a call scheduled at the same day, and from this meeting we started to believe that we would finally find a place to live!
Emma truly understood our needs (school, neighborhood, activities) and recommended a place that would be the best for us. The company is located in Karlstad, and the people who work there live in Karlstad and know the city very well.
Emma started to look for an apartment that would be suitable for us right away. She visited and took videos of the apartments. So we were able to watch the recordings and decide between several options. It was very helpful and reassuring to have someone with experience visit in person and help us choose the right place.
Starting from the first call with Expedition Sweden, it took about a week to sign a lease! But even more, Emma helped us with many other aspects of our relocation: like signing up for the internet, electricity, home insurance and more. These are things that can be quite hard to do without a personnummer.
We are now very happy with our apartment, our neighborhood and the school for our child! We are very grateful to all the help from Expedition Sweden.
